What Makes a Monster?

All monsters are handmade by Stephanie on a Husqvarna Platinum 950E in her home. The monster parts are cut from fabric scraps, samples, end of the roll remants and old clothes/socks/gloves one at a time with no patterns so each one is totally unique.

Buttons selected from bulk bundles are used for eyes. Currently the monsters are being assembled with vintage 1950's plastic teddy bear/doll eyes from a bundle purchased on eBay (There are approximately 50 pairs).

They are then stuffed with Ecofill Luxury Fibre Fill (Recycled polyester fibre has the capacity to keep almost 3 billion plastic PET bottles out of the world's landfills each year, saving over half a million barrels of oil and eliminating 400,000 tons of harmful air emissions which contribute to acid rain, global warming, and smog.)

About the Artist

I have always loved to sew, and enjoy adding a touch of the 'unusual' to my clothing and craft creations. While playing around with scrap fabrics and a few (large) bags of stuffing salvaged from another tenant in my building, the first monster was born.
